  • Overview

    This is a tenure track position in the Department of Languages, Philosophy & Communication Studies at Utah State University.  We invite applications for an Assistant Professor position of Health Communication in our Communication Studies program.

     

    Initial deadline for this ongoing search will be September 29, 2019.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach a variety of Communication Studies courses.
    • Conduct and publish scholarly research in topics related to health communication and other areas of expertise.
    • Serve on various departmental committees as needed.
    • Advise and mentor students.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Doctorate in Communication to be completed by August 2020;
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish scholarly research;
    • Demonstrated expertise in Health Communication;
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach a variety of courses;
    • Ability and willingness to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Along with expertise in Health Communication, the ability to compliment, enrich and extend the current strengths of the department.
    • Interest and commitment to developing a funded research program.
    • Interest in health disparities and/or campaigns
    • Qualitative or quantitative research methods
    • Interest in teaching organizational communication
    • Interest in interdisciplinary collaborations
