Schatz Bearing Corporation (Poughkeepsie, NY)  manufactures specialty ball bearings used in various industries with high standards for quality and performance - including Aerospace & Defense, Machine Tool, Automation & Robotics, and Medical Equipment.  We are a rapidly growing company with a need to increase our manufacturing and customer support capabilities in order to accommodate market demand. This is an excellent position for someone with gauge setting experience who is eager to learn more and grow with the company. 

Full-time position Monday Through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm,with occasional overtime when needed.

* Set a variety of gauges, indicators, and special test equipment using calipers, micrometers, and hand tools
* Set up and adjust gages using blueprint specifications with master parts, gage blocks, and setting discs and rings per specification requirements. This includes periodic verifications of gage set-up. 
* Ability to stack gage blocks
* Recommend new gauge settings for standardization of the process of gauge set-ups, minimize gauge set-up issues, and wait time for gauges to the manufacturing area.
* Work with Quality and Engineering in the design of new or modified gauging when required.
* Train, guide, and support co-workers in the gage room.
* Utilize the Calibration software system to assign various gauges to track gauge location in the various departments.
* Ability to help the manufacturing area in troubleshooting and resolving gauge issues.
* Maintain and support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) metrics in all areas assigned.
* Ensure strict adherence to and implementation of Company Safety and Work rules


* High School diploma or equivalent or qualified experience
* The equivalent of 1-2 years of inspection or Gauging experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations i.e. decimals, fractions, addition and subtraction.
* Strong application knowledge of calibration and metrology systems including the development, improving, and approving gauging methodologies and design. 
* Qualifications include general or application knowledge of quality assurance systems and blue print interpretation.
* Works well with others in solving daily gauging problems and improvement ideas.
* Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
* Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment. 
* Advanced skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions in English required.
* Moderate physical demand required to lift gauges.
