Responsibilities:
The registered nurse performs the functions of the job within the scope set forth by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), National Alliance of Wound Care & Ostomy (NAWCO), and within established policies and procedures. The registered nurse takes primary responsibility for coordinating, planning, implementing, and developing nursing care plans that are specific to direct skin and wound management. By carrying out and managing wound care standards, the registered nurse will follow-up on all care related activities, educate the patient/caregiver/family on the process and plan for transition of care as necessary. The registered nurse acts as an interdisciplinary team member and will assure all physician orders are accurately transcribed and carried out in a timely manner while providing hands-on care for wound prevention and management. The registered nurse works collaboratively with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), clinical and ancillary services to ensure seamless communication and uninterrupted patient care. This position requires complete understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the organization and creating an exceptional patient experience by demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required
* 1 years of previous experience in Wound Care or physician office.
* Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
* RN:CA
* BLS-CPR from the American Heart Assoc.
* Wound Care Certification (WCC)
Preferred
* 2 years of previous experience in Wound Care and Clinical Office experience preferred.
* BSN preferred.
