Weekend Barista

				Overview:

UnityPoint-St Luke's Hospital Coffee Shop

PRN (as needed)

Weekend day shift needed

Prepare, provide and serve attractive and quality food and beverages with a friendly, safe and courteous manner to all customers in accordance with all department policies & procedures. Perform duties of cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pans, and equipment throughout the department. To stock display cases and coolers.  Provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Patient Care

* Prepares, provides, and serves attractive and quality food and service as assigned.
* Maintains good portion control.
* Utilizes positive customer service skills such as smiling, offering suggestions, providing for special requests, etc.
* Fulfills any and all other designated tasks pertinent to the success of the NFS department.

Technical & Safety

* Correctly operate department equipment that has been assigned. 
* Clean and restock dishes, food, supplies, and beverages during hours of operation as assigned.
* Practices HACCP guidelines for food handling and a sanitary and safe condition. Reports any equipment malfunction to a supervisor.  Monitors and records temperatures, utilizes safe food handling techniques, maintains a clean orderly work station.
* Ensures cash is balanced each shift and reviewed by a Team Lead or Supervisor.
* Checks out with Supervisor or Team Lead at the end of their shift.

Qualifications:

* Coffee shop experience preferred.
* ServSafe Food Handler (Training Provided)
* Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
* Multicultural sensitivity.
* Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.
* Customer/patient focused. 
* Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. 
* Machines: Espresso machine, milk steamer, coffee urn, refrigerators, freezers, knives, and any other pertinent food service equipment.
