				Responsibilities:

GFT is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation team in Raleigh! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Raleigh office.

What you'll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Water Resources Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role is to provide design support for water resources aspects of highway design, site and facility projects to include storm drain systems, SWM facilities, erosion and sediment control. 

As a water resources engineer, you will gain experience and be mentored by experienced professional engineers and project managers. You will be asked to perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and technical writing to prepare reports and permit applications, including those for wetland and waterway construction, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

* Assist in performing field reviews of project sites to determine existing conditions to aid in the project design.
* Provide technical assistance for other design projects as needed, including stream restorations and bridge scour studies.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* B.S. in Civil Engineering, emphasis in water resources or environmental engineering
* P.E. preferred
* 5-8 years of transportation related experience including storm drain systems, bridges, culverts, open channel flow, stormwater management (SWM), environmental permit drawings and erosion and sediment control

What we prefer you bring: 

* Familiarity with OpenRoads, proficiency with MicroStation and related Bentley programs is preferred
* Experience with HEC-RAS, HY-8, FlowMaster or other water resource related programs is a plus
* Must be able to learn, understand and be able to apply North Carolina DOT Hydraulics Unit standards and Roadside Environmental Unit Erosion and Sediment Control Requirements

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
