Overview:
The Licensed Mental Health Professional works in correctional facilities under the direction of the Health Services Administrator or higher licensed health professional. They are responsible for providing screening, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices to inmates in accordance with all applicable licensure standards and regulations. They also maintain accurate and complete clinical records in compliance with the facility's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct intake evaluations, provide appropriate care recommendations, and identify necessary treatment services, including group and individual therapy, for inmates.
* Assess suicide risk and provide prevention interventions, conduct daily rounds, and respond to mental health crises as needed.
* Provide consultation to staff and coordinate with prescribing providers to ensure appropriate medication management.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, provide staff training, and document findings and treatment in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Oversee the clinical needs of patients on their caseload, provide linkage and discharge planning services, and perform performance evaluations and training for direct reports.
Qualifications:
Education
* Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline
Experience
* One (1) or more years of experience in a Mental Health treatment program, preferably in a Correctional or Hospital setting
Licenses/Certifications
* Unrestricted, current license in the State of practice - e.g. LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, Psychologist - Must maintain all licensures, certifications, continuing educational requirements, etc.
