Responsibilities:

The Weather Forecaster provides forecast operation services that consist of managing and developing weather observations/forecasts for existing and threatening weather conditions, performing meteorological analysis and interpretations, evaluating and preparing locally based and worldwide forecasts of atmospheric/space weather conditions for aviation and ground operations, and tailoring communications of weather conditions to customers in the form of weather warnings, weather watches, and/or advisories. This role researches materials, prepares necessary documents, and responds to planned and emergency service calls during regular hours and occasional after duty on-call hours. This role is a full-time onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

Qualifications:

Essential Functions and Duties:

* Takes/Augments and disseminates surface weather observations.
* Uses knowledge of technical methods, procedures, weather observations and meteorological analysis methods to effectively communicate to customer and management.
* Evaluates weather elements and objective determination of meteorological elements using precision measuring equipment.
* Evaluates and tailors centrally-based forecasts to local mission requirements and providing input to regional weather centers for the development of weather advisories and forecasts.
* Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
* Ability to work overtime as needed
* Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
