Overview:
The Account Manager manages all Company contact with new and existing clients and is responsible for building and cultivating client relationships. This position is measured on the ability to successfully sell and deliver services (doer-seller). This position is responsible for generating business, managing client relationships and developing employees as well is responsible for a geographic region, vertical market segment, and/or customers with a large building program. The Account Manager is responsible for full profit and loss on respective accounts. This position reports to the Executive Vice President/General Manager and manages specific client accounts.
Has demonstrated proficiency in:
* Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects safely.
* Business Development - Operations: Analyzes client needs and applies market knowledge to determine business growth opportunities. Develops and oversees the implementation of strategies and action plans to target and pursue additional business with existing clients and new business opportunities.
* Business Strategy: Leads and oversees the development and implementation of pursuits to acquire new clients in coordination with relevant teams and exercises a genuine appreciation for the "long game", balancing immediate corporate revenue needs with long-term, sustainable client relationships and potential opportunities.
* Client Management: Manages client relationships to meet their needs while protecting the company's interests.
* Contract Management : Reviews, executes and manages the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements. This includes facilitating, administering and participating in contract discussions, reviews and negotiations with all relevant contracting parties.
* Financial Reports: Interprets project financial reports, ensuring accuracy and discipline in accordance with best accounting principles and governance and acts upon any identified risk and opportunities.
* Forecast Validation: Utilizes project accounting and national financial tools/reports to validate financial forecasts of upcoming activities and act upon any identified risk and opportunities to overall financial health within your area of responsibility (e.g. project, group of projects, region, BU).
* Operational Standards: Develops, implements and manages compliance with operational standards, systems and processes
* Resource Planning & Management: Oversees the necessary resource planning and engages SMEs/support services when necessary, to fully develop project execution plans prior to mobilization, including scheduling, design management, safety, procurement, project analytics, staffing, and financials.
* Safety Champion: Leverages our Care for Life value, quantitative data (internal and industry EHS data, metrics and standards) and qualitative insights (site visits) to reinforce our safety culture and take action to address risk.
* Team Talent: Identifies and recognizes individual talents and aligns team members with complementary abilities to build and deploy multi-disciplinary, winning teams.
Has a basic understanding of:
* Client Relationship: Builds trust with individual clients and client organizations through active listening, transparency, empathy, clear and timely communication and action to create long-term partnerships, retain existing clients and foster future opportunities.
* Sales - Operations Management : Develops sales goals and defines strategies to meet sales targets. Utilizes knowledge of capital programs and upcoming projects to prepare and review proposals and presentations to prospective clients.

* Typically has budget or P&L accountability for the key subdepartment

* Draws from prior experience, analysis of issues and extensive investigation into root cause to solve problems and issues faced which may be numerous, complex, and undefined, and where information is typically difficult to obtain and involves consideration of multiple sites, geographies, products, or customers.
Communication and Influence:
* Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, as well as with parties external to the organization, including customers or vendors.
* Influence's others to accept job function's view/practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
* Communicates with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization.
* May conduct briefings with senior leaders within the job function.
* May at times be required to negotiate regarding operational issues.
Leadership and Talent Management:
* Manages Key Operational Sub Department for an entire country, region, function, or critical project that includes multiple teams led by directors/senior directors and managers.
* Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans for the key sub-department to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish the key sub-departmental business results.
* Typically, has hiring, firing, promotion, and reward authority within own area, in accordance with Corporate Guidelines.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree - [INSERT RELEVANT AREAS] or equivalent experience and minimum 15 years prior relevant experience
* Requires advanced management and leadership knowledge to lead cross department project teams or manage across multiple functions.
* Typically has mastery within a specific technical or broad expertise across multiple related disciplines.
