Novant Health Revenue Cycle Services is launching a new Vice President of Revenue Cycle Transformation to lead innovation, process improvement, automation, and integration services across all revenue cycle functions. This strategic leader will chart the future of revenue cycle performance harnessing technology and best practices to deliver exceptional operational results.  

The VP of Revenue Cycle Transformation will report to the SVP, Chief Revenue Officer. The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Transformation is the executive lead responsible for reimagining, designing, and executing transformational change across the entire revenue cycle. This role is focused on building a modern, patient-centric, data-driven revenue cycle that supports operational excellence, financial performance, and scalable growth.

This leader will drive strategic initiatives that modernize access, mid-cycle, and back-end functions through digital enablement, intelligent automation, analytics, organizational redesign, and cultural change. They will also lead integration of revenue cycle operations during acquisitions, partnerships, and the launch of new care delivery models.

Qualifications:

Education: 

* 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Degree in Business Administration with a Healthcare of Finance concentration, or equivalent, Health Care Administration, or a related field.
* Graduate Degree, preferred. MS, MBA; a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting, required.

* Knowledge of government regulations, laws, and accrediting body standards related to revenue cycle management.
* Knowledge of emerging trends, technology, vendors and best practices in revenue cycle management
* Experience with executing revenue cycle transformation initiatives and driving performance

Essential Functions
Enterprise Revenue Cycle Transformation

Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of a multi-year transformation roadmap, aligned with Novant Health priorities, to evolve the revenue cycle into a high-performing, digitally enabled enterprise function.

Redesign processes, organizational structures, and capabilities to align with future-state models that emphasize automation, standardization, agility, and patient experience.
Challenge legacy thinking and champion new approaches that deliver meaningful, sustainable improvements in revenue performance, operational efficiency, and workforce engagement.
Strategic Growth & Integration

Serve as the executive lead for revenue cycle integration when the health system acquires new hospitals, physician practices, or launches new service lines.
Design and operationalize scalable access-to-payment infrastructure that supports expansion, ensuring consistency, compliance, and financial viability from day one.
Partner with M&A, clinical, finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless onboarding and rapid performance alignment.
Serve as an advisor to other operational RCM Vice Presidents.
Vendor management

Collaborate and support Vice President of Shared Services in governance and performance management of revenue cycle vendors.

Collaborate with Vice President of Shared Services on holistic vendor strategy.
Innovation, Technology & Digital Enablement

Lead the adoption of advanced technologies, including automation (RPA), AI, machine learning, NLP, and intelligent workflows to optimize revenue cycle functions.
Partner with IT and EHR teams to enhance system capabilities (e.g., Epic optimization) and modernize the digital patient financial experience.
Drive implementation of digital front door strategies that support scheduling, preregistration, price transparency, estimates, and frictionless billing.
Data & Performance Intelligence
Build a robust performance framework using real-time analytics, benchmarking, and predictive modeling to identify gaps, guide decisions, and drive accountability.

Translate insights into strategic actions that optimize KPIs such as days in A/R, denial rates, cost to collect, point-of-service collections, and patient satisfaction.
Change Leadership & Culture Shift
Inspire and lead cross-functional teams through complex change by building shared vision, engagement, and resilience.

Develop a transformation culture rooted in transparency, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making.

Mentor and empower leaders and teams to think innovatively, act with urgency, and deliver results.

Patient Experience
Develop and deliver a focused approach to improve patient experience, drive competitive advantage, encourage patient loyalty, and increase market share.
