Overview:
The Vice President Clinical Affairs serving the Greater Charlotte Market acts as a liaison between the medical staff, administration and hospital departments to coordinate this interrelationship in the pursuit of the highest appropriate levels of medical care. This person is held responsible for the effective discharge of medical staff organizational functions as set forth in the medical staff bylaws and policies developed by the Medical Staff Executive Committee and approved by the Board of Trustees regarding medical staff performance.

Qualifications:
* Education: Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a recognized college or university and completion of residency training in a clinical specialty required.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years active practice experience required. Experience in a medical staff leadership position preferred. MBA, MHA, MMM or equivalent preferred.
* Licensure/Certification/Registration: Board certification in clinical specialty required. Eligible for membership on the applicable medical staff(s) required.
* Additional Skills Required: Extensive knowledge of both clinical medicine and hospital operations and management. Skills for problem solving, teamwork, consensus building, conflict resolution, and developing innovative solutions. Ability to handle unusual, demanding and unrelated tasks, supervise and develop others in their performance. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work and function in a matrix organization.
