Responsibilities:
As our Surgical Technician Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in optimizing surgical operations and advancing patient care by coordinating essential resources. This key position involves close collaboration with the OR RN Clinical Coordinator to streamline the evaluation, ordering, and implementation of crucial instrumentation, equipment, and supplies across specific service lines. If you're a skilled Surgical Technician with a passion for process improvement and team development, this leadership opportunity is for you.
Every day you will collaborate with surgeons, vendors, and materials management to evaluate requests for new instruments, manage inventory, and ensure cost-effectiveness of specialty items like case carts and custom packs. You'll act as a preceptor for new staff, provide input in the hiring process, and serve as a vital resource for equipment management, preference card updates, and staffing solutions. Additionally, you will identify and facilitate educational needs for the surgical team, ensuring adherence to surgical standards and policies, and upholding the organization's strategic goals.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) certification and complete an accredited Surgical Technology training program. You will possess a minimum of two years of experience in an acute surgical setting or GI clinical setting, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, aseptic principles, and Joint Commission standards. Strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment are essential for coordinating effective and efficient surgical services.
