Overview: Full time shifts available - Days, (2) 12-hour 7am-7pm and (1) 8-hour 7am-3pm shift per week with weekend rotation; 32 hrs/wk Part time shifts available - Eevenings 3pm-11pm with weekend rotation; 20 hrs/wk The Unit Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth operations within a healthcare unit. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Unit Clerk serves as a central point of contact for staff, patients, families, and other departments, assisting with administrative functions, patient flow, and assisting with unit activities. Responsibilities: * Prioritizes dissemination of information using available technology. * Assists with maintaining readiness of patient care equipment. * Effectively and accurately maintains patient records. * Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. * Balances team and individual responsibilities; open and objective to other's views; gives them welcome feedback; contributes to positive team goals; and puts the success of the team above own interests. * Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. * Manages supplies and patient care supplies i.e., order, obtain and store supplies. * Stocks bedside carts and alcoves. * Washes various types of beds used in NICU (warmers, incubators, cribs). Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Must be familiar with word processing software and basic computer skills. Previous healthcare experience preferred. One year experience in business or secretarial environment preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused.
