Overview: Shift Options: 1. Part-time Day/Evening combination of 11am-7pm and 3pm-11pm (24 hours/week) 2. Full-time combination 12-hour 7am-7pm and 8-hour 7am-3pm (32 hours/week) 3. Part-time combination 12-hour 7am-7pm and 8-hour 7am-3pm (28 hours/week) Provides clerical support for staff. Delivers and obtains information, specimens, and supplies within the facility. Contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families. Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery is a 39 single room department that provides care to premature and critically ill infants from birth to discharge. A Family-Centered Care approach is implemented in the delivery of care. Patient population includes premature infants and infants up to 28 days of age. Responsibilities: * Prioritizes dissemination of information using available technology. * Assists with maintaining readiness of patient care equipment. * Effectively and accurately maintains patient records. * Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. * Balances team and individual responsibilities; open and objective to other's views; gives them welcome feedback; contributes to positive team goals; and puts the success of the team above own interests. * Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. * Manages supplies and patient care supplies i.e., order, obtain and store supplies. * Stocks bedside carts and alcoves. * Washes various types of beds used in NICU (warmers, incubators, cribs). Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. UNIT CLERK EXPERIENCE, OR EXPERIENCE IN A MEDICAL OFFICE SETTING PREFERRED. Medical terminology needed. Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. 40 wpm typing. Personable with good phone etiquette. Must be able to transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
