Responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact in this role 

* 
*  Monitors and operates critical plant systems (e.g., boilers, refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems), ensuring safe and efficient performance. 
*  Inspects equipment, adjusts controls, reads gauges, and identifies and resolves or reports malfunctions. 
*  Performs water testing and chemical management, and completes minor and emergency repairs using appropriate tools and equipment. 
*  Prioritizes and completes work orders, interprets schematics and specifications, and prepares necessary materials and supplies. 
*  Maintains accurate records, equipment documentation, and work histories while responding promptly to emergencies. 
*  Supports safe, efficient operations by supervising assigned staff, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to safety, compliance, and cost-control standards.

Qualifications:

Education: 

* High School diploma or equivalent - required. 
* Related trade school or equivalent training - required 

License/Certification: 

* City of Detroit First Class Refrigeration Operator license - required 

Experience:                  

* Three to five years - required. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

* Ability to work with power equipment.
* Ability to work with hazardous equipment.
