Maintains continuous efficient and safe operation of all Hospital equipment and properties. Operates and repairs Powerhouse equipment along with emergency generators, including performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, and painting.
This position is located at Genesys Health System- Grand Blanc, MI.
Qualifications:
Education:
* High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program -required.
License/Certification:
* Certified Third Class Maintenance Professional specializing in Power Engineering credentialed from the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers (NIULPE) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date-required.
* Driver's license obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any valid United States driver's license will be acceptable and must be able to meet risk management requirements-required.
* Certified Fifth Class Maintenance Professional specializing in Power Engineering credentialed from the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers (NIULPE) or equivalent approved by Facilities Leadership-required.
* Certified Maintenance Professional specializing in Waste Treatment credentialed from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)-preferred.
* Third Class NIULPE-preferred.
Experience:
* Hospital general maintenance experience and minimum of 2 years' experience in high pressure power plant operations or equivalent-required.
* Experience using multi-meter, sewer auger, hand/power tools, and reading blueprints and specifications-required.
* Prefer knowledge and experience in operating, repairing, installation of electrical mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural equipment, plant water chemistry and treatment-preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
* Knowledge of multi-meter, sewer auguring machines, hand and power tools, read blueprints and specifications
* Knowledge required to operate, repair and install electrical, mechanical and HVAC, plumbing and architectural equipment.
* Knowledge of plant water chemistry and treatment.
* Must be able to use smartphone/computer to create work requests, order supplies and close corrective and preventive work orders.
* Ability to read, write and speak English.
* Must have normal vision or correctable vision.
* Must be able to differentiate primary colors.
* Must have normal finger dexterity.
* Must have the ability to work without use of mechanical assisting devices.
* Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds without use of mechanical assisting devices.
* Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
* Must have normal hearing or correctable hearing to recognize various alarms that are in use in the institution including but not limited to fire, steam pressure, medical gas and medical air alarms.
* Interpersonal skills: written, oral and telephone.
* Must be able to manipulate tools, instruments, equipment and materials commonly used in Maintenance trades.
* Must pass a Respirator Fit Test.
