				Overview:

Responsible for providing E&S (P&C) property underwriters with information necessary to make sound underwriting decisions. (i.e., customer service and administrative support affecting underwriters and agents from initial submission through policy issuance for both new and renewal business). Provides support within established performance standards and priorities. Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with our business unit focus of customer service.     

Responsibilities:

* Participates with underwriters in new and renewal business activities that support underwriting decisions consistent with business unit growth and retention goals.
* Partners with underwriters to establish support needs for new and renewal policies (i.e., identify/gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind the policy)
* Manages account documentation and processing (i.e., premium audits, endorsements, cancellations, non-renewals)
* Oversees or handles policy maintenance items and other mid-term requests. As well as conducting midterm policy audits.  Processes endorsement requests as assigned by underwriters.  Follows up on outstanding information as required.
* Fosters positive business relationships with agents / brokers, through frequent contact. Develops and maintains good rapport; and resolves conflicts
* Provides general administrative support and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Undergraduate studies degree preferred.  Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Strong desire to establish career path in the insurance industry
* Ability to synthesize and apply a high volume of information
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet productivity deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge:  Knowledge of complex Commercial Lines underwriting policies, practices and procedures, insurance law and underwriting/marketing principles and techniques. Knowledge of regulatory issues, the wholesale insurance transaction, market conditions and company operations.

Skills/Competencies:  Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, interpersonally with individuals and groups via telephone, tele/video conference, fax, e-mail and in person.  Demonstrates negotiation skills and ability to work independently. Ability to use/learn job related computer software.  Ability to train and mentor all levels of underwriting assistants and interns.  Ability to analyze and interpret mathematical, statistical and logical data, and evaluate its reliability and significance.

The expected salary range for this role is $50,000-$67,000/year.
