What You Can Expect:

* Location- Breast Care Services Treasure Valley
* Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts alternating one day off every other week
* No on call or weekends required!
* 15-16 exams per tech per day.
* Phillips equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

* Education: Associate degree or experience in lieu of degree
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Must have current certification in one of the following areas: Abdomen (RDMS-AB), Breast (RDMS-BR), OBGYN (RDMS-OBGYN) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Sonography (ARRT-S) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities:

Operates ultrasound equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. Prepares and assists patients during ultrasound exams and testing.

* Technologists will educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. 

* Technologist is responsible for the preparation of an adequate, complete, and current medical record for every individual evaluated or treated as a patient. Records must contain sufficient information to identify the patient, support the diagnosis, justify the treatment and document in the electronic health record. 

* Practice radiation safety guidelines specific to ALARA policy (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). 

* Performs daily quality control and equipment inspections as required. 

* Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis. 

* Educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. 

* Ensure the proper exam is being administered to the patient. Consult provider as needed. 

* Maintain proper inventory levels of all supplies as required. 

* Assist provider during invasive procedures. 

* Perform and document daily equipment inspections and high-level disinfection per department policy. 

* Participate in call rotation as needed. 

* May be responsible for US testing/accreditation requirements, site specific. 

* Performs the most advanced tasks with little to no supervision, according to the requirements of their designated unit and department. 

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
