Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Serving over 70,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, heart care, women's health, and a family birth center. In 2025, we opened our new patient tower, Grand Tower, featuring a dramatically expanded Emergency Department and Family Birth Center that will increase patient comfort and privacy.

Responsibilities:
All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner. Provides health care services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in one of the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen and neurosonology. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient condition essential for successful completion of the procedure. Performs all General ultrasound exams and procedures including portables. Participates in on-call assignments.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Graduate from AMA approved school of ultrasound technology.
* Knowledge of ultrasound examninations as well as related interventional procedures.
* Knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and safety.
* Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
* Ability to handle multiple task / projects and meet deadlines. Demonstration of ethical and proifessional conduct.
* ARDMS certificate required.
This position is represented by SEIU and is expected to be a 3 month assignment.
