Responsibilities:
Performs all levels of ultrasound procedures. Assists with evaluations of equipment and procedures. Liaison for ultrasound interdepartmental procedures. Assumes role of Lead as required.
* Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol
* Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifier and gel in/gel out. Always produces high quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation to physician.
* Performs exams proficiently in ED, IR US, OB Also able to demonstrate proficiency in one of the following areas: OB >16 weeks in addition to performing Pediatric Spines/Heads and hips.
* Prepares patients for pending exams bys providing instructions related to NPO status, drinking, evaluating labs, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Preferred
Associate degree or higher college level degree
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Cerner experience
Medical Radiographer: AZ (MRAD:AZ)
