Responsibilities:

The incumbent sets up and operates specialized equipment to include:

* physiological data recording system
* Exercise Stress test monitor and exercise testing equipment
* Echocardiographic equipment to perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures
* also procedures required by the EKG technician including 
* scheduling of patient appointments
* quality assurance
* data collection
* typing and filing of patient records.

Qualifications:

* BLS-CPR from American Heart Association.
* Basic knowledge of cardiac and human body anatomy and physiology, interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and EKG procedures and equipment.
* General filing procedures, electrical safety standards and aseptic technique.
* Demonstrates knowledge of standard echocardiographic windows in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) criteria.
* Echo procedures and equipment to include the ability to obtain satisfactory images in the following modes: M-mode, Two dimensional, Pulse Wave Doppler, Continuous Wave Doppler, Color Wave Doppler.

Preferred

* Completion of didactic and hands-on coursework in echocardiography through an approved learning institution.
