As a UX Lead on Waters' Digital Web Team, you will shape intuitive, engaging, and accessible digital experiences across Waters.com and related web applications. You will be responsible for elevating the end-to-end user experience across multiple digital touchpoints, collaborating across Product, Engineering, and Content teams to deliver customer-centered solutions. Working in an Agile environment, you will lead design execution, and advocate for best-in-class interaction and usability standards that support business goals and improve customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will bring a clear vision for evolving the Waters.com digital experience to both delight users and address customer challenges. They will excel at translating business objectives into seamless, user-centered experiences and consistently demonstrate a customer-first mindset.
Focus Areas:
* Develop UX strategy for Waters' digital web ecosystem, including content, transactional, and authenticated experiences.
* Define and guide user-centered design processes and frameworks.
* Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, and Engineering to provide scalable design solutions.
* Drive usability, accessibility, and interaction patterns that align to Waters' digital design system.
* Support continuous optimization of UX through research, experimentation, and testing.
This is a Hybrid role based out of Milford, MA three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday)
Responsibilities:
Detailed Responsibilities:
* Lead discovery efforts to understand user needs, behaviors, and difficulties through research and data analysis.
* Translate sophisticated business requirements into intuitive user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.
* Partner with Product and Engineering teams to scope feasible solutions that balance usability, technical constraints, and business goals.
* Own UX delivery across Agile sprints, collaborating closely with developers during implementation.
* Conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and A/B experiments to validate design direction and continuously improve experiences.
* Uphold and evolve Waters' digital design system, ensuring consistent visual hierarchy, layout structure, and interaction patterns.
* Mentor and manage a team of UX and digital designers and foster a culture of design excellence.
* Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
* Partner with the Analytics team to measure UX efficiency with key KPIs like task completion, engagement, NPS, and conversion metrics.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
* Strong expertise in UX strategy, interaction design, user flows, and responsive web design.
* Proficient in modern design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
* Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
* Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), design systems, and UX best practices.
* Comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating cross-functionally.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is preferred.
* Knowledge of personalization, experimentation (Adobe Target), and AI-assisted UX is a plus.
* Bachelor's Degree required; Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or related field preferred.
* 6-8 years of UX/UI design experience.
* Experience designing for enterprise B2B web platforms strongly preferred.
* Portfolio demonstrating UX leadership and complex problem solving required.
