Responsibilities:
As our Transplant Hepatologist with the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, you will help patients with complex liver diseases and those requiring liver transplantation access world-class clinical care and foundational program development so they can achieve optimal health outcomes and improved quality of life.
In this role, you will be instrumental in building and expanding the liver disease and transplantation program. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of transplant hepatologists, APPs, and surgeons, provide exceptional direct patient care, contribute to medical education for students, residents, and fellows, and engage in clinical research to advance the field.
To be successful in this role, you must be a skilled and passionate Transplant Hepatologist with expertise in liver disease, a commitment to innovative clinical care, and the aspiration to grow a premier transplant program while engaging in academic and research opportunities within a highly supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional clinical care alongside our medical director, and will have an opportunity to build the foundation of the liver disease and transplantation program in Phoenix. Though the pursuit of providing innovative and high-quality clinical care remains the priority of our providers, faculty appointments, research opportunities, quality improvement, and patient advocacy involvement is encouraged for interested physicians.
* Opportunity to grow and build a hepatology and transplant hepatology practice
* Collaborate with 2 other transplant hepatologists, 3 hepatology APPs, transplant surgeons, and other faculty members to expand the transplant program
* Contribute to the education of medical students, housestaff, and gastroenterology fellows, with opportunities to be involved in the administration of the GI fellowship program
* Full advanced endoscopy support with separate inpatient GI consultative service
* Inpatient hepatology consultation service with GI fellow and hospital-based APP support
* Robust IR service line with capacity for ablation, TACE, Y-90, and histotripsy
* Institutional support for clinical research

Qualifications:
Required
* MD or DO degree
* Completed ACGME Residency training with current ABMS Board Certification in Gastroenterology
* Completed ACGME Fellowship training with current ABMS Board Certification in Hepatology (or eligible if new graduate)
* Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
* Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospital
