Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Translator interprets oral and written communications among executives, including MEBD Senior Vice President, General Manager, PEC President, Managing Director, and other employees. They also assist in formal and informal meetings and conferences, particularly those involving specialized managerial, financial, and strategic terms.

Essential Duties:

* Interpret between Japanese expats and domestic staff
* Provide interpretation for various meetings as well as telephone conferences
* Translate technical and non-technical documents including policies, strategical and financial documents when necessary
* Compose and translate emails, reports, and various administrative functions
* Ability to translate from Japanese to English and English to Japanese
* Proficient with proof reading, and editing
* Must be able to interpret accurately between U.S. and non-U.S. executives and customers regarding both casual and sensitive agenda
* Other duties may include administrative work assigned by leadership

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

* To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications:

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

* Basic/Required:  High School Diploma or GED  
* Preferred: Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, English, Japanese, or a related field.

Essential Qualifications:

* 3 - 5 years of related experience
* Written and verbal fluency in Japanese and English, excellent communication and writing skills
* Japanese/ English business language skills; preferably JLPT N2 or higher, English level fluent to native level
* Eiken level 1 or higher, or TOEIC L/R 800 or higher, and TOEIC S/W 150 or higher if English is your second language
* Translator / interpreter experience in a business/ technical environment, manufacturing industry preferred
* Ability to translate quickly and accurately
* Skilled in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to cooperate and work with diverse teams including those overseas in Japan

Preferred Qualifications:
