Are you looking for your next challenge within Arcus? We're excited to open up a new development opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical PPM Engineer within our Mobile Delivery Team - as part of our new Develop initiative. This traineeship role is a perfect fit for those who want to add to their skillset and progress into a M&E role.
Responsibilities:
Initially, you will be enrolled on a 3-month programme which will provide training on several key elements within M&E. Through a mixture of on-the-job, practical and theoretical learning, you will develop the essential skills required to be a safe, productive and successful M&E PPM Engineer.
Please note that the majority of the learning will take place at the National Training Centre in Stevenage, therefore regular travel into Stevenage (including occasional overnight stays) will be required of the successful colleagues.
Following this learning period, you will be integrated as a key member of the M&E team in your area, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks across a defined portfolio of sites. You'll ensure all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in line with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Your Accountabilities Will Include:
* Completing all scheduled M&E PPM tasks and associated paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
* Supporting reactive maintenance activities while on site, where experience and skillset allow.
* Ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards, escalating hazards and near-misses via Arcus systems.
* Carrying out asset surveys, CDS checks, ERM updates, and seasonal audits to maintain site compliance and performance.
* Using Arcus HELIX system to manage your daily activities effectively and ensure SLA targets are consistently met.
* Contributing to continuous improvement by working flexibly to reduce travel time and improve task completion rates.
* Developing professionally through exposure to varied tasks and structured support from mentors and team members.
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Ideally experience in a retail or fast-paced operational environment.
* Knowledge or hands-on experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning, or Plumbing (desirable).

* Proficient with IT and confident using digital systems.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of prioritising tasks.
* A team player with a customer-first attitude.
* Willing to upskill through training and hands-on mentoring.
* Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces.
