Overview:
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Technician! The Trailer Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation.
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to perform year-round outdoor work. Candidates must have hands-on experience with trailer systems, including air brakes, DOT inspections, wheel end torque procedures, and both swing and roll-up doors. Must provide own hand tools.
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!PAY:$25/hour-$31/hour(Depending on Experience)
3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday: 12:00am - 8:30am

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
What the Technician role looks like:
* Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
* Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
* Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
* Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
* Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
* Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
* Perform other duties as required
Key Competencies & Education
What our ideal candidate looks like:
* Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
* Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
* Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
* Must provide own hand tools
* Perform DOT inspections
* Basic computer skills
* Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions:
* Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
* Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
* Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
* Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
* Ability to move and position heavy objects
* Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
* Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
