Responsibilities:

Full-time Physician Assistant (PA-C) position in Seattle. Provides outpatient and inpatient care for thoracic surgery patients, assists in the OR, and develops/manages treatment plans under physician supervision. Primary conditions treated include but are not limited to both benign and malignant diseases of Esophagus, Lungs, and Chest Wall.  This position does not include cardiac surgery.  

No current call expectation. We anticipate this job involves 75% outpatient, 25% inpatient and OR coverage. 

Responsibilities:

* Patient care in various settings (ambulatory, inpatient, OR).
* Perioperative patient management with surgical residents.
* Care coordination, patient education, and communication.
* Histories, physical exams, and test orders/interpretation.
* Plan of care development and medication orders.
* Timely and accurate documentation (notes, summaries).
* First assistant in the OR.
* Independent clinical judgment.
* Collaborative relationships with providers.
* Resident education.
* Continuing education and adherence to safety standards.

Hours:

* 4 days per week, currently there are no on call, night, or weekend responsibilities

Compensation 

The posted compensation range of $155,000 - $187,700 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Qualifications:

* Certified PA-C with prescriptive authority in Washington.
* 2-5 years of experience preferred.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
* Self-directed with problem-solving skills.
* Team-oriented and quality-driven.
* Computer proficiency.
* BLS required.

Team:

Part of a Thoracic Surgery team with surgeons, advanced practitioners, and residents. Focus on academics, education, and multidisciplinary care.
