Steampunk is seeking a Lead Test Engineer who will provide testing and QA expertise in mission critical work across our client base.
Responsibilities:
As a Test Engineering Lead, you will deliver quality assurance services to support application, cloud, and data systems development. Responsibilities include:
* Responsible for leading the overall testing effort and deliverables, work with testing team to ensure that testing is on time and of the highest quality.
* Test planning activities and estimation, test scope definition with the use of risk-based testing.
* Implement governance and reporting processes.
* Implement standard processes, methodologies and tools.
* Ensure that the team follows the testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology as specified in the test strategy.
* Perform all test management activities; resource management, monitor and control, risks and issues management.
* Manage test environment, test data preparation, test tools and test automation implementation.
* Work with the application and technical architecture teams to plan various test phases.
* Review test to ensure that they meet the entry and exit criteria.
* Define and facilitate formal sign-off process and procedures for testing deliverables.
* Primary contact and escalation point for testing.
* Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members.
* Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
* Bachelor's Degree or above in business computer, Information Technology, Computer Science or any related fields.
* 10+ years of experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile work environment.
* Experience in Software Testing (Manual and/or Automated), System Test, Integration Test, and User Acceptance Test.
* Strong analytical and proven ability to quickly understand complex business and systems and provide a suitable solution for clients.

* Certifications:
* CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)
* International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification
* Certified Manager of Software Testing (CMST)
* DHS Trusted Tester Certification (TTv5)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
* Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations.
* Experience in designing and developing automated frameworks.
* Experience in building monitoring systems or improving testing effectiveness.
