Continuing to build on a strong heritage of safety, quality and professionalism, Acuren strives to maintain incident free work environments, pursues advanced technical developments, and supports reliability programs that are valued by clients and employees. #LI-YC1 Responsibilities: * Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures * Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements * Set up components for welding according to specifications. * Operate straight and angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded * Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces * Repair castings and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps * Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws * Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety * Experience running or reviewing MVR's (Motor Vehicle Reports) and experience submitting or reviewing background checks. * Ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting deadlines. * Excellent grasp of industry terminology. * Strong accuracy and attention to detail. * Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Other work duties as assigned Qualifications: * A minimum of 3 years welding experience * Candidate should have a basic welding aptitude, 2 year technical degree or related work experience preferred * Welder shall be familiar with ASME and AWS Guideline Codes such as, but not limited to; B31.3 and D1,1 * STICK & TIG welding experience required * Advanced mechanical capabilities * Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG specifically) * Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings * Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) * Metal preparations, remove discontinuities or defects prior to any repairs made by welding * Upon completion of weld repairs, surface contours require additional grinding and finishing to meet client's specification
