Job Summary
The Telecommunications Analyst is responsible for supporting and optimizing the company's unified communications platforms, with a primary focus on UCaaS systems. This role will ensure reliable, efficient, and secure voice services across all locations while providing expert-level support to campus staff and leadership.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Designs, implements, and maintains UCaaS solutions for all company locations.
* Analyzes telecom and collaboration processes to reduce inefficiencies and improve user experience.
* Serves as a liaison between UCaaS vendors, home office, and campus staff in resolving telecom issues.
* Ensures high availability and reliability of all company voice and communications systems.
* Documents and implements maintenance standards for UCaaS platforms, including integrations with email, voicemail, and collaboration tools.
* Provides support for legacy phone systems during their transition to UCaaS - such as NEC and UCx.
* Monitors help desk tickets related to UCaaS, telecom, and network wiring to ensure timely resolution.
* Oversees installation, testing, and maintenance of UCaaS hardware and software components.
* Acts as a communications consultant, providing user support, training, and documentation.
* Develops and maintains company-wide standards for telecom acquisition, configuration, and usage.
* Conducts follow-up on escalated issues and assists IT team members with complex troubleshooting.
* Partners with leadership to manage telecom budgets and ensure financial stewardship.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience: 3-5 years
Licenses and Certifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
Strong knowledge of UCaaS platforms (e.g., 8x8, RingCentral, Zoom, Microsoft Teams Phone, or similar).
Experience supporting or migrating from traditional PBX/VoIP systems to UCaaS.
Familiarity with network concepts related to voice and video traffic (QoS, SIP, VLANs, firewalls).
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
