We are seeking a Technical Purchasing Manager to oversee supplier contracts and to coordinate the procurement of technical services, spares and consumables required by company vessels at various international ports and dry docks. This position will work a hybrid schedule based out of our Miami office.

Responsibilities:

* Manage technical purchasing functions.
* Manage purchasing staff, providing training, guidance, coaching and counseling; evaluating performance and addressing performance issues; maintaining schedule and timekeeping.
* Develop and continuously enhance purchasing strategy for Windstar to maximize value to the company and guests, and minimize cost, develop procedures for procurements and awarding of contracts to ensure cost-effective and timely completion
* Proactively identify areas of potential cost savings, strategically targeting those areas to realize the greatest potential cost reductions; identify value-added opportunities in vendor relationships; apply experience and sourcing knowledge to overcome obstacles; actively seek system/process improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain business relationships with vendors, service suppliers and internal customers, adhering to corporate objectives and ethics guidelines.
* Confer with Windstar departments to determine purchasing needs; assist departments in the development of specifications, vendor qualifications, cost price analysis and contract negotiations
* Manage the preparation, administration and award of contracts resulting from bids, requests for proposals, and information/requests for qualifications. Administer contracts for goods and services provided for departmental use. Collaborate with Department heads to adhere to the budget, maintain standards and avoid unnecessary expenses.
* Plan, coordinate and track shipping logistics for ships deliveries
* Send proper documentation to vessels in adequate time for storing dates.
* Investigate and resolve storing and inventory discrepancies and secure credits when appropriate in coordination with vendor base and vessel staff.
* Assists Technical Superintendents in the planning and execution of capital projects.
* Review invoices that do not correspond with Purchase Orders to prepare delivery adjustment forms.
* Maintain voyage files with documentation pertaining to each designated storing.Travels, as necessary, to vessels and vendor locations to audit procedures.

* Plan and execute special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

* 3 to 5 years of management/ supervisory experience
* 5 + years of proven purchasing experience in maritime technical purchasing
* High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
* Strong negotiation skills and experience with bid and award cycle
* Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities effectively
* A demonstrated track record of excellent interpersonal and organizational skill.
* CPM or APP Purchasing Certifications
* High degree of proficiency in Purchasing database management (AMOS-W experience preferred)
* International sourcing experience
* Ability to travel for up to four weeks at a time to shipyards to attend dry docks and new builds
