Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead our innovative hardware and software solutions, guiding them from initial concept through the entire product lifecycle. This pivotal role involves leading diverse, cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and orchestrating everything from system integration to continuous feature delivery. This role requires a minimum of 3-days per week in our Holtsville, NY (Long Island) office, 2 days remote (US).
Responsibilities:
* Provides team leadership of cross-functional innovation hardware and solutions teams.
* Drives execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance to our Lifecycle Management framework.
* Executes multiple limited scope projects simultaneously or a large program with senior manager's guidance utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
* Leads system integration planning, release management, and planning for demonstrations, proof of concepts, pilots, minimal viable products, and continuous feature delivery.
* Leads firmware and software development as part of a larger solution aligning to hardware milestones.
* Leads cross functional workstreams and drives execution for sales enablement, development and deployment.
* May coach or act as escalation point for level 1 or level 2 Program Managers
* Works closely with external partners, including Contract Manufactures and Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM), to build the relationship, negotiate alongside business development & legal, and execute the solution.
* Independently builds relationships and works across all relevant areas of the solution business including Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.
* Works independently with business in defining proof of value and customer's return on investment.
* Organizes and presents business, technical and program reviews/status to Senior leadership using digital media, dashboards and JIRA project management tools.
* Independently executes to program plan and budgets for multiple, large projects.
* Recommends corrective actions and implement changes. Identfies and mitigates risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans.
* Ensures alignment from key leaders of milestone achievement before moving the program forward.
* Motivates a project team to ensure solutions are reliable and of quality, in a highly collaborative fashion
* Demonstrates the ability to see cross-functional impacts of decisions and project plans and execution.
* Balances scope, schedule and budget considerations to adjust the project with minimal impact to the business.
* Understands the business objectives of the program and assumes personal accountability for success of the program against those objectives.
* Provides assistance with coordination of deliverables and project assets to assist the project team.
* Personally anticipates and addresses obstacles or issues that are moderate to significant in severity and escalates complex issues to management for assistance.
* Independently engages additional resources as needed to address obstacles or delays. Adjusts the plan per management guidelines as delays or obstacles are experienced.
* Demonstrates intermediate understanding of development processes and product launch scope and activities
* Supports early stage go to market activities and transition to marketing
* Develops and protects intellectual property
* Explores and understands competitive landscape in both product and business terms
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree, or related technical BS degree REQUIRED
* Minimum 5+ years' Engineering/Program management experience for products in fast paced environment REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with driving end to end new product cross functional development teams
* Experience providing team leadership to cross-functional innovation hardware and solutions teams.

* Experience with both hardware and software development best practices
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
* Ability to translate customer problems into solution requirements.
* Solid analytical skills and ability to present data to leaders
* Experience leading medium cross-functional teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent critical thinking and questioning skills
* Self-motivated, results driven, manages risks, and thrives in an environment of uncertainty and continuous innovation.
* Experienced team builder with proven collaboration and ability in managing resources
* Experience working independently and as part of a team to solve difficult technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges; well versed in risk management practices
* Be well versed with IP fundamentals
* Master's degree preferred
* PMP Cerfification preferred
