				Responsibilities:

GFT is seeking a Technical Agreement Specialist to join our Transportation Team in Schaumbug, IL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Schaumburg office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

The person will be a member of our highway division and will lead preparation and coordination of roadway agreements between the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Municipal and Agency partners as part of a Program Management role. The position is a full-time role (40 hours a week) with work in the IDOT District One office. The successful candidate will lead coordination of various tasks including coordination of roadway plan drawings, quantities, and related costs for items of local participation, maintenance and jurisdiction.  Document may include agreements, jurisdictional transfer document and letters of understanding. The individual may also be called on to work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects.  The individual will need to work independently and lead project agreement and work with other Bureaus within the Department of Transportation. The candidate will work with engineers and other technicians to achieve completion of various tasks.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

* Provides direction to Project Engineers and Staff Engineers as to the general results expected.
* Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks.
* Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods and routinely represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions, and to plan and coordinate work.
* Responsible for following IDOT agreement policy and communicating policy to IDOT staff and the public partners. Needs to understand and be able to read and interpret engineering design plans and specifications.
* Able to work in Microsoft computer environment. 
* Manages workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* Minimum 5 years of related, in-field experience, including work directly or as a consultant for IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, Cook County Department of Transportation & Highways, or local counties and municipalities, and with Federally funded projects.
* A background in preliminary engineering, plan development or construction engineering. 
* Candidates must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
* Individuals are required to possess an Illinois Driver's License. 

What we prefer you bring: 

* A Professional Engineering license or similar experience is beneficial.
* Previous experience leading projects, coordination and inspection of roadway work in the field or design is preferred.

Compensation:

The hourly range for this role is $29.00 - $40.50. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
