Overview:
Forefront Dermatology is a fast-growing, physician-led dermatology network committed to providing exceptional skin care across the country. As the Team Lead - Coding and Documentation, you will guide a team of coding professionals to achieve departmental and project goals by overseeing the development and execution of precise, high-quality documentation and coding reviews. This leadership role plays a key part in maintaining coding accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence within a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
* Leads members of the Coding Team to achieve project and department goals and objectives through development and execution of purposeful and highly accurate documentation and coding reviews.
* Serves as a resource for support service functional groups, clinicians, and clinic leaders for coding related questions and investigations.
* Supports communication, training, and implementation of applicable coding changes and updates
* Prepare for and actively participating in applicable management meetings.
* Ensure company coding and documentation training materials and resources are up to date and accurate.
* Maintains current knowledge of the clinician role in NextGen PM and EMA EHR and monitors, assigns and personally participates in delivery of EMR and coding training, remotely and in-person, for clinicians joining the network.
* Hosting regular team meetings, communication, supervision, and direction in accordance with company philosophy, goals, and objectives.
* Personally acting as a resource and mentor for others, role modeling team work, positive response to change, and sharing of knowledge and expertise.
* Manages department schedules, PTO, and payroll in collaboration with the Compliance Manager.
* Assists with new employee interview process, on-boarding and training.
* Responsible for staff development and performance, addressing deficiencies and issues, and completing staff performance evaluations on time.
Qualifications:
Education and Requirments
* AHIMA or AAPC certification or similar coding certification required
* 2+ years of leadership experience in a coding or auditing setting required
* Certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN is preferred but not required.
* Minimum 2 years' of work experience in dermatology preferred.
* Must be willing and able to travel occasionally.

* Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Proficient computer and typing skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
For this position, the base pay range is $75,000.00 - $76,500.00 per year. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certifications or training. This position is eligible for our annual incentive program.
