About Us: Our franchise school in Xi'an has four centrally located schools which employ over 40 foreign teachers and have approximately 3000 students. The schools are situated in the north, south, south east, and south west of the city. Our schools are modern, well established and fully equipped and operate to the highest standards. The maximum number of students in each class is 18, which makes teaching efficient, effective and easily manageable. We teach children, starting from four years old, teenagers, adults and corporate clients, ranging from complete beginner to advanced level English. All four schools have a western Director of Studies and Senior Teacher who are there to help and guide you. All new teachers are assigned a mentor and we also offer ongoing professional development to enable you to develop and expand your teaching prowess and career. We have our own dedicated course books and syllabus with lots of supplementary resources to help you make your lessons fun, interesting and motivating. About Xi'an City: Nestled deep in China's heartland you'll find the ancient city of Xi'an, literally translated as `Western Peace'. The capital of China during the period of 618 - 907 AD, Xi'an served as China's gateway city during its 'golden age' under the Tang Dynasty. Xi'an is still a very traditional Chinese city of approximately 7 million people but also boasts many sites of historical and cultural interest. The city is now experiencing rapid development - that said, when you live in Xi'an you really feel you are living in China every day. A walk down any street and you will see sights which provoke a second glance - from elderly men playing majiang and women practicing tai ji (tai chi) in the morning, to the sound of traditional music coming from a nearby park. Everyday throngs of children with red neckerchiefs pass you on their way to school and, of course, you never walk along a deserted pavement in this city. Although probably best known for the Army of Terracotta Warriors, there are many points of historical interest within and outside the city. As one of a small group of foreigners living here, you will quite often hear surprised locals exclaim "laowai" (meaning foreigner). They're not being rude: they're just not used to seeing a Western face walking down the street! About the Candidate: -You should be enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible. -You should like being around children and be genuinely concerned with their academic and social development. -You should be able to work independently. -You should be able to plan engaging lessons using school provided courseware and your own imagination to delight your students. -You should be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to solve problems creatively and with a positive attitude. -You should enjoy working with technology in the classroom.
