				About Us:

Our Longtan centre itself is a small school with just under 300 students, but we are growing, and we need an enterprising, dedicated teacher to join us as we grow. We put the emphasis on fun in our classes, and as teachers we are full of energy and enthusiasm.

About Taiyuan City:

Our city is home to around 4.5 million people, in Shanxi Province. We are just a three-hour ride away from Beijing on the fast train, and not far from Pingyao, an ancient walled city which is full of temples and markets.

Taiyuan is relatively small by Chinese standards but it's still expanding. It's ideal for someone who wants to come and experience the 'real' China, as the population of westerners is very small, and consequently the locals are very surprised to see a foreigner walking down the street. They will often smile and say 'hello', and might even try to chat you up if you're willing to try out your Chinese .

There are many traditional Chinese restaurants which serve cheap meals. A bowl of chao bing si (fried noodles) costs CNY 6 (around one dollar!). In fact, the cost of living is fairly cheap, and living here provides an excellent opportunity to save money. Taxis are reasonably priced and a single bus ride anywhere in the city costs CNY 1, (although good luck finding a seat!). In Taiyuan it's easy to immerse yourself in the culture and live like one of the locals.

For the foreigner who occasionally misses some home comforts, China is opening up to the west. Although Taiyuan is not as westernized as Beijing or Shanghai, it still offers some of the comforts of home. You can go to the gym, go bowling, ice-skating, play pool, go to the cinema, go-karting or visit the fun-fair. If you crave KFC or McDonalds we have them, as well as a handful of western-themed restaurants and pizza shops.

Taiyuan is a great city to live in if you want a truly Chinese experience and it's as easy to avoid the western influences as it is to find them.

About the Candidate:

  -You should be enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible.
  -You should like being around children and be genuinely concerned with their academic and social development. 
  -You should be able to work independently.
  -You should be able to plan engaging lessons using school provided courseware and your own imagination to delight your students.
  -You should be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to solve problems creatively and with a positive attitude.
  -You should enjoy working with technology in the classroom.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree (any discipline and any classification will be considered)
 A minimum of forty hours TEFL or equivalent training.
 As we give you full training, no experience is necessary, although some experience with young children would be a huge benefit
 Must be a native speaker of English from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the

Total package of CNY 10,500/month which breaks down into:

 First three months during probation period - CNY 6,500 per month
 After three months - CNY 7,000 per month
 After one year - an increase of 9%
 Flight Allowance of CNY 9,000 (half payable after six months from commencement of contract, half payable after twelve months from the commencement of your contract)
 Fully sponsored working (Z) visa
 International health insurance
