About Shijiazhuang City:

The city of Shijiazhuang is the provincial capital of Hebei located 170 miles (2 hours by train) southwest of Beijing with a population of around 10 million people.

Shijiazhuang is a modern and vibrant city offering foreigners the real Chinese experience - the city only has but a few foreigners. Most of the people here speak Mandarin Chinese, so living in Shijiazhuang provides foreigners with an excellent opportunity to be immersed in the language.

Shijiazhuang is in the heart of northern China and just a short distance from Beijing, Xi'an and Qingdao. The city centre is rapidly growing while the surrounding area offers mountains, Buddhist temples and fabulous scenery. The ancient walled city of Pingyao and the sacred Mount Tai are just a short and cheap train journey away. Mount Cangyan is famous for its appearance in the movie "Hidden Tiger Leaping Dragon".

For the more frugal minded, you will be pleased to know the cost of living in Shijiazhuang is incredibly low compared with other cities in China. Fresh produce is cheap to buy from street markets and if you'd rather eat at a restaurant than cook at home, there are restaurants all over the city which are very reasonably priced.

There are several bars and pubs and dance clubs in the city plus Shijiazhuang has several 24-hour restaurants. One of the best parts of the summer is the street restaurants - people set up barbeque pits along the streets and you can sit and eat and drink late into the evening. Shijiazhuang also has several beer gardens throughout the summer.

Several shopping malls have opened in Shijiazhuang which have excellent supermarkets and other western stores such as Wal-Mart, H&M, Starbucks and others. If you want a truly unique experience, there are also several street markets in the city.

About the Candidate:

  -You should be enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible.
  -You should like being around children and be genuinely concerned with their academic and social development. 
  -You should be able to work independently.
  -You should be able to plan engaging lessons using school provided courseware and your own imagination to delight your students.
  -You should be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to solve problems creatively and with a positive attitude.
  -You should enjoy working with technology in the classroom.

Qualifications:

  -TEFL/TESOL preferred
  -2 years work experience
  -Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  -No prior criminal record
  -In good health

Total package of CNY 9,500 - 11,500/month which breaks down into:

 Salary CNY 6,000- 7,000 per month depending on experience
 Shared apartment or housing allowance of CNY 1,500 per month
 Flight allowance of CNY 9,000 per year
 Cambridge Teacher's Knowledge Test Certification (TKT) sponsored annually
 Performance bonus up to CNY 500 per month
 Fully sponsored working (Z) visa and Permanent Residence Permit
 10 days paid holiday
 10-15 days National holiday

 Monthly travel allowance
 Teacher induction training upon arrival
 Ongoing professional development and pastoral care
