About Us: Our school in Qinhuangdao is a franchise of the largest private education company in the world. Established in 2002, the school is growing fast with over 1,000 students between the ages of 4 and 14. We staff 11 foreign English teachers - because of the charm of Qinhuangdao and the quality of our school it's not rare for a teacher to stay for longer than one contract term. Over half of our staff is in their second or third contracts with our school. This not only demonstrates satisfaction with the school but also means new teachers on-board will have excellent opportunities to learn from our experienced team. Our centre was fully renovated in 2013 and we now boast 10 bright and spacious classrooms each equipped with multi-touch interactive whiteboards. We have two large teacher's rooms with networked computers and a host of lesson materials and resources. About Qinhuangdao City: Qinhuangdao is a growing city of about 3 million people - relatively small by Chinese standards! It is developing but has retained a lot of traditional Chinese culture and charm. Qinhuangdao has plenty of great restaurants, parks and places of interest - one popular getaway is "Laolongtou" which is ending point of the Great Wall - a bus can get you there in just 30 minutes. The best part about Qinhuangdao is the beach - there are several beach resort areas including one that is less than ten minutes by bus from the teacher apartment. Because of its status as a resort city, Qinhuangdao also has a range of other tourist destinations such as theme parks, an aquarium and a zoo. There are shopping malls, western supermarkets like Tesco and Carrefour as well as western coffee shops, bars and restaurants. The expat community is small and friendly - about 200 expats reside in Qinhuangdao. A trip to Beijing, Tianjin and Shenyang is two hours or less by train. About the Candidate: -You should be enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible. -You should like being around children and be genuinely concerned with their academic and social development. -You should be able to work independently. -You should be able to plan engaging lessons using school provided courseware and your own imagination to delight your students. -You should be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to solve problems creatively and with a positive attitude. -You should enjoy working with technology in the classroom.
