Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Sales Associate is accountable for impacting sales growth, developing new opportunities, and maintaining customer relationships. This role involves filling and moving prospects through the sales pipeline, participating in negotiations, closing sales, and onboarding new customers. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Qualifications:
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Establishes, builds and maintains relationships with customers and develops sales conversations.
* Moves prospects through the sales pipeline by effectively qualifying leads, making presentations, and addressing customer objections.
* Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate value propositions to prospects.
* Utilizes sales software and tools, researches industry trends, market opportunities, and competitor activities to generate new leads and identify potential prospects in the target market.
* Presents new opportunities and projects to the Customer Development leader for evaluation and approval.
* Participates in the negotiation of terms, closing of new sales deals, and the onboarding of new customers to meet customer objectives and company revenue targets and objectives.
* Assist with training and supporting new customers to ensure they derive maximum value from their partnership with our company.
* Assists with marketing campaigns to grow sales through tradeshow attendance.
* Coordinates with Logistics Account Managers to ensure customer requirements are met, address issues promptly, and implement strategies for customer retention and growth.
* Other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
* Basic knowledge of food logistics and market trends (helpful, not required)
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with various levels of management.
* Negotiation skills.
* Excellent customer service, presentation, and active listening skills.
* Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
* Ability to travel as required by the company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
* Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
