				Overview:

This role drives talent intelligence and strategic sourcing for hard-to-fill and niche talent by combining market research, proactive sourcing, and data-driven insights to build strong candidate pipelines. It also helps scale recruiting impact across Avalara by developing AI-driven tools, refining sourcing strategy, and sharing market intelligence that strengthens our talent approach and employer value proposition. 

Responsibilities:

* Conduct market mapping and talent research to identify target companies, talent pools, and market trends. 

* Source and engage passive candidates for hard-to-fill and niche roles, assess initial fit, and deliver qualified candidate slates. 

* Build and maintain pipelines for key and hard-to-fill roles, using data to refine sourcing strategies and partnering closely with Recruitment Marketing to strengthen talent attraction efforts. 

* Conduct global and regional talent research to identify talent availability, market trends, and strategic location opportunities that support the company's business model and evolving talent needs.  

* Develop and deploy AI-driven tools that enable recruiters and talent teams to scale talent research, market intelligence, and sourcing. 

* Create analytical models that continuously inform talent personas, outreach strategies, and intelligence on the most effective sources of talent, helping refine and evolve sourcing strategy over time. 

* Proactively share talent market insights that help our team stay informed on evolving skill trends, shifting market dynamics, and emerging signals to watch, so we can better position Avalara as an employer of choice. 

Qualifications:

* 8+ years of combined experience in recruiting, sourcing, and research, ideally in hard-to-fill or niche talent areas across multiple regions 

* Naturally curious and highly analytical, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear insights to drive practical recommendations 

* Strong experience in market mapping, talent intelligence, and research-driven sourcing strategy 

* Familiarity with recruiting technologies, sourcing channels, and data analytics tools; experience with AI-enabled solutions is required 

* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with proven ability to engage passive candidates and build interest in opportunities
