Responsibilities:

The Solution Engineer is a core contributor within the Sales organization, responsible for designing and delivering advanced technical solutions across Keysight's Network and Application/Security (NAS) test portfolio. This role requires strong hands-on knowledge of test systems and networking protocols, along with the ability to support complex technologies, including the emerging demands of AI/ML data center networking. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and bring strong adaptability and a collaborative, team-first approach.

A background equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is essential. The role covers both pre-sales and post-sales, with a solid understanding of networking and routing protocols such as ISIS, OSPF, and MP-BGP, as well as EVPN/Segment Routing, and knowledge of data encapsulations including MPLS, VxLAN, MACSec, and RoCEv2.

As AI and machine learning workloads reshape modern data center architectures, familiarity with AI/ML back-end network fabrics, including RoCEv2/RDMA performance, lossless Ethernet behavior (PFC, ECN, DCQCN), and congestion management for large-scale GPU cluster environments, is highly valued. Familiarity with private and public cloud capabilities, including Linux, KVM, containers, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Azure, is a strong advantage. Python automation skills are important for process optimization and for driving innovation in solution development and deployment.

Responsibilities

* Providing specialized technical guidance and building advanced technical solutions across Keysight's product such as IxNetwork and service portfolio, including AI data center test solutions.
* Supporting design and consultation sessions with prospective clients, demonstrating protocol expertise and helping drive the solution discussion.
* Taking ownership of complex technical problems and partnering across teams to support customer needs and broader business objectives.
* Adapting to shifting business priorities and workload demands while maintaining a solution-oriented, execution-focused mindset.
* Delivering sales presentations, product installations, and maintenance, ensuring smooth product integration into customer systems.
* Integrating Keysight products and services at the system level into the customer's environment and ensuring interoperability.
* Supporting customers in validating AI/ML back-end network fabrics, including RoCEv2/RDMA performance, lossless Ethernet behavior (PFC, ECN, DCQCN), and congestion control for large-scale GPU cluster training and inference workloads.
* Tailoring solutions to customer needs by applying knowledge of networking, routing, and AI data center fabric protocols.
* Developing product demonstrations and customer training materials.
* Leveraging Python automation for improved efficiency and rapid prototyping, with a solid understanding of the overall QA automation framework.
* Staying current on industry trends, competitive products, and the latest developments in networking protocols, AI/ML fabric technologies, and automation techniques, including customers' test automation frameworks.
* Collaborating with the Engineering and Product Management teams to help refine product features.
* Supporting the sales process for complex or advanced systems and applications by building proof-of-concept tests that demonstrate solution capabilities.

Qualifications:

Must-Have (Required)

* A background equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
* 5+ years in customer-facing engineering roles, with pre-sales experience preferred.
* Strong proficiency with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet and TCP/IP internetworking.
* Working experience (production or lab) with modern data center and backbone architectures and protocols: CLOS, Leaf/Spine, VxLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing.
* Solid Python automation/scripting experience with REST APIs.
* Hands-on experience with traffic generation / network test equipment.
* Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with openness to feedback, a team-first approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.
* Ability to travel up to 30% of work time.

Desired (Nice to Have)

* Network certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent (e.g., Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, Arista).
* Working experience with Ixia test products.
* Experience with virtualization stacks (KVM/Open vSwitch, VMware/NSX) and containerization (Docker, K8s).
* Working knowledge of public clouds (AWS, GCP).
* Strong plus: Working knowledge of AI/ML data center networking, including RoCEv2/RDMA, lossless Ethernet, and congestion control mechanisms (PFC/ECN/DCQCN); familiarity with GPU cluster fabrics, rail-optimized CLOS designs, and AI workload traffic patterns (e.g., collective communication such as NCCL).
* Preferred: Exposure to AI network test/validation solutions such as Keysight KAI (Keysight AI) Data Center Builder, and awareness of Ultra Ethernet (UEC) and InfiniBand as fabric alternatives.
