Overview:
Odyssey Systems is seeking experienced Systems Engineers to join our talent community for anticipated opportunities supporting various Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) programs. This is an evergreen position used to proactively identify and engage highly qualified candidates for future openings across our portfolio of engineering and acquisition support efforts.
While this role is not currently tied to a specific contract, selected candidates may be matched to upcoming positions based on their background, skill set, and program needs. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in systems engineering, technical integration, and acquisition support within a DoD environment.
Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
* Support government systems engineering efforts throughout the acquisition lifecycle, from concept development through system deployment and sustainment
* Assist with requirements analysis, functional allocation, system architecture development, interface definition, and technical documentation
* Conduct system trade studies, risk assessments, and analyses of alternatives (AoAs)
* Develop or review technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and test and evaluation plans
* Participate in working groups, technical interchange meetings, system reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR), and readiness assessments
* Analyze and track system performance metrics and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and performance goals
* Coordinate with program managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure technical integration and compliance with DoD and AFLCMC standards
* Provide input to acquisition documentation such as system engineering plans, specifications, and milestone reviews
Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Secret (with ability to obtain TS/SCI if required)Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fieldYears of Experience: 5+ years in systems engineering, preferably within DoD or AFLCMC
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret / SCIEducation: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or relevant disciplineYears of Experience: 8-12 years supporting DoD acquisition programs
Technical Skills
* Requirements development (DOORS, Jama, or similar tools)
* Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (SysML, Cameo, etc.)
* Interface definition and integration
* Familiarity with Agile or traditional waterfall acquisition approaches
* Test planning, execution, and verification/validation (V&V) processes
Interpersonal Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Ability to work collaboratively with government, industry, and cross-functional teams
* Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving

Travel: May be required up to 10-20%
