Responsibilities:

The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for managing the daily field operations of a land survey crew, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

* Field Operations Management: Plan and oversee field surveys, including primary control, construction layout, and as-built surveys, ensuring the most efficient methods for data acquisition
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including sketches, daily reports, timesheets, and other required documentation
* Collaboration: Communicate regularly with the Project Surveyor and technicians to align with project schedules and monitor work progress
* Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, landowners, and other stakeholders
* Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications to ensure all work meets required tolerances and standards
* Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure land surveying vehicles and field equipment are properly maintained and operational
* Adaptability: Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and team success

This role is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage field operations in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of industry experience; prior crew chief experience preferred
* Valid, current driver's license required
* Competent operating robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels, tablet PCs
* Experience with Trimble equipment preferred
* Strong computer, technical, and mathematical skills
* Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal)
* Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
* Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions and environments and carry up to 80lbs
* Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed
