Overview:
We are seeking a highly-motivated intern to join our Survey Discipline in our Albany, NY office.

Responsibilities:
* Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective discipline.
* Transform field collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings.
* Work with more senior staff to produce ALTA, Boundary, Topographic Surveys, As-Built drawings, maps, Specific Purpose Surveys, Plot plans and Subdivision Record Plats by using Autodesk Civil 3D.
* Reduce field notes from field collected data into survey/civil grade base maps.
* Will also work in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Instrument Man of a one, two or three-person field crew.
* May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD.
* Cut and remove brush and undergrowth for line of sight.
* Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data.
* Reads and understands plans and specifications.
* Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines.
* Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting.

Qualifications:
* Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, CADD, Engineering Technologies, or Civil Engineering.
* Must have reliable transportation to the office/field.
* A valid driver's license and good driving record required.
* Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Possess solid problem-solving skills.
* Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
* Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
* Be able to carry up to forty pounds of equipment up flights of stairs.
* Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour (depending on qualifcations)
