Responsibilities: As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process. * Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role * Understands supply costs and independently Works with team to assure that quality of care is maintained while cost containment is considered * Demonstrates superior knowledge of the varied surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation. Assures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure * Assists in communication with Biomedical Services on the status of equipment needing repair or maintenance * Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment Qualifications: Required High School Diploma/GED Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) or Certified First Assistant (CSFA) BLS (AHA only) Able to work in atleast 3 different specialty areas Preferred Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists
