Overview: Surgical Technician II *$10,000 Sign-On Bonus* As our Surgical Tech II at St. Joseph, you will help assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients. Every day you will perform scrub duties and related procedures in accordance with your license, be accountable for ensuring maintenance of sterile field and supplies/equipment for selected speciality. To be successful in this role, you must perform in the advanced roles of preceptor, and understand sterile techniques for instruments and surgical situations. The network includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care Express Clinics and imaging and diagnostic services. #Hellosurgicaltechs Responsibilities: Responsibilities: * Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure * Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure * Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon * Maintains sterile field. Reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique * Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument which has been placed by the surgeon Qualifications: Required Education & Experience: * Two (2) years of experience * Completion of a Surgical Tech program * CST - Through National Board of Surgical Technology * BLS Required Knowledge: * Principles of asepsis, case preparation, infection control, basic computer knowledge.
