At our company, we support your career growth and personal well-being. * Start Strong: Extensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into our setting. * Recharge & Refresh: Generous PTO for full-time team members to maintain a healthy work-life balance * Your Health Matters: Comprehensive medical/RX, health, vision, and dental plan offerings for full-time team members * Invest in Your Future: Company-matching 401(k) retirement plan, as well as life and disability protection for full-time team members * Your Impact Matters: Join a team of over 44,000 committed to providing exceptional patient care Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Physician, the Surgical Technician prepares the endoscopy room for procedure, as well as decontaminates and cleans all items used. * Sets up case carts with supplies and equipment * Respond to request for information * May participate in preparation of the patient for surgery by positioning and draping the patient * Sets up endoscopy room for procedures and works with GI physicians and staff * Helps with transportation of patients * Audits and fills par level areas daily * Uses cleaning products according to guidelines to ensure that items are properly cleaned and disinfected, and minimize chemical exposure * Applies principles of safety in performance of all duties and responsibilities * Uses sterile technique to complete surgical procedures * Utilizes knowledge of recall procedures to retrieve and reprocess all outdated items * Inspects and uses special knowledge of proper cleaning and decontamination technique to process all soiled equipment, scopes, and other items used * Utilizes interpersonal skills to enhance communication with physicians, nursing units, other departments and fellow departmental employees * Demonstrates a cooperative effort to help and receive help from other staff * Takes initiative in upgrading and maintaining skills necessary to provide quality care to patients and leadership to assigned staff. * Acquires continuing education sufficient to maintain licensure and certification. * Demonstrates competency in a variety of skills as demonstrated and evaluated on at least an annual basis * Involves the patient with care planning by meeting any needs they identify during assessment. * Identifies the patient's normal patterns of living and strives to attain them. * Involves the patient's family as much as possible. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. * At least one (1) year of experience as a Surgical Technician in a hospital setting. * BLS Required.
