				Overview:

Presbyterian is seeking a Surgical Tech to join our Labor and Delivery team and support our perioperative services.

In this role, you will be responsible for problem-solving during procedures, maintaining knowledge of equipment, and ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards. You will perform instrument counts, prepare supplies and sterile fields, and assist in patient positioning and skin preparation during surgery. Your duties also include monitoring patients, providing pre-operative support, performing scrub functions, and ensuring proper handling of specimens.

You will manage and inspect surgical instruments, operate specialized cleaning equipment, and ensure compliance with sterilization and infection control standards. Tasks involve cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining instruments, processing GI endoscopes, and documenting sterilization records. Additionally, you'll inventory and restock surgical supplies, assist in distributing medical equipment, and maintain records in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Staying current with anatomy, physiology, medications, and surgical practices through participation in seminars and workshops is integral to this role. You will also ensure compliance with safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and workflow patterns, while supporting overall efficiency in surgical operations.

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

Qualifications:

* HS Diploma or GED required.
* Current BLS required.
* Short-term training in operating room setting preferred.
* Previous experience with handling of sterile supplies and/or instruments preferred.
* Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment. Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
