Responsibilities:

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day, you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

* Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, Infection Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental control standards, and Patient's Bill of Rights.
* Identifies and prepares appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment based on identified surgical procedures.
* Maintains and monitors aseptic technique.
* Assists the surgical team during operating procedures as appropriate.
* Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies. Documents maintenance and repairs.
* Provides comfort and support for operative patients. Demonstrates sensitivity to patients' care and privacy.

This position is represented by SEIU  UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement

Qualifications:

* High School Graduate or GED
*  Minimum (1) year of operating room experience in an acute care setting
* Successful completion of an accredited/approved Surgical Technician program or equivalent combination of education/experience
* Fire Safety, within 90 Days 
* AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
