Responsibilities:

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be a central figure in the operating room team, meticulously preparing and maintaining the sterile field for surgical procedures and actively anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Every day, you will expertly set up the sterile operating room, meticulously organize instruments and supplies according to surgeon preference cards, and assist the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist during procedures. You will also manage the sterile supply flow, perform accurate surgical counts, and ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique and all safety protocols from pre-operative preparation through post-operative cleanup.

To be successful in this role, you will combine exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile procedures, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to anticipating needs, and a collaborative spirit, all dedicated to supporting positive patient outcomes and seamless surgical operations.

* Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks and procedures according to Medical Center policy and procedure. Including, but not limited to:

Demonstrates proficiency in the role of Scrub Technician.

Supports Clinical Practice Standards.

Demonstrates good judgment in utilizing resource personnel.

Provides assistance to Nursing and attendant personnel.

Adapts to change and problem-solving on a daily basis.
* Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently use equipment in the provision of department services:

Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.

Uses the following equipment in accordance with manufacturer's operating instructions. Including, but not limited to: CUSA Neuro Suction Irrigator.

Microsopes for various clinical services.

Power equipment including drills, saws (ie Midas Rex; Senthes; Stryker).

Autoclaves & Steris.

Instrument Washer/Decontaminator & Sonic.

Other specialty equipment based on clinical service & competency sign-off.

Qualifications:

Required

* Must have a minimum of six months' experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties 
* Six months experience may substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year or if operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered, but must be a recent Graduate from an or Tech Program and certified. 
* If Military trained, in lieu of ORT Certification/NCCT, a minimum of 10 years of Military Surgical Tech Experience is required.
