Responsibilities:

As our Surgery Scheduler Coordinator, you will be a pivotal asset within our Surgery Access Center Department, playing a crucial role in supporting the scheduling and billing needs of perioperative patients across multiple CHI Health hospitals. You will contribute directly to our mission by providing quality services that enhance the patient experience and ensure efficient access to surgical care within our faith-based healthcare system.

Every day you will expertly schedule surgical procedures, considering the intricate availability of procedure rooms, equipment, staff, and anesthesia care providers using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) scheduling software. You'll accurately schedule, follow up on variations, and assist with surgical billing. This role involves extensive coordination with multiple departments for complex cases, managing incoming calls and electronic case requests, and indexing medical clearance documentation, all while optimizing patient safety through meticulous planning.

To be successful in this surgical scheduling specialist role, you will need a strong background (equivalent to high school graduate) in medical terminology and/or hospital experience. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure under stressful and chaotic situations are critical. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented professional with excellent computer proficiency and communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships across various offices and departments to ensure efficient and compassionate surgical access management.

Qualifications:

Required

* High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
* High School GED General Studies, upon hire or
* One to two years of hospital (medical field) experience with knowledge of medical and surgical terminology, upon hire
